Storm damage and inspections
Hail damage is easy to miss from the ground and easy to oversell from a ladder. We inspect, photograph and tell you plainly whether there’s damage worth claiming.
After a storm
Do these in order. None of them commits you to anything.
Stay off the roof
Wet, hail-pitted shingles are slippery, and walking on them can add damage. Photograph what you can from the ground.
Note the date and time
Your insurer will ask when the storm hit. Save any local weather alerts you received.
Book an inspection
We check the shingles, vents, flashing, gutters and soft metals, and photograph everything we find.
Decide whether to claim
If there’s damage worth claiming, we give you the photos and notes to file with. If there isn’t, we tell you that too.
Meet the adjuster
If you’d like, we’ll be there when the adjuster inspects, so nothing gets missed.
What a storm inspection checks
Hail leaves evidence on soft metals before it’s obvious on shingles. We check all of it and photograph each finding.
- Shingles: hail bruising, cracks, missing tabs, granule loss
- Soft metals: dents in vents, flashing and gutters that show hail size
- Flashing at walls, chimneys and skylights
- Pipe boots and roof vents
- Attic: daylight, staining, ventilation and insulation
- Gutters and downspouts
Insurance, without the pressure
The claim is yours. Our job is to make sure the damage is documented accurately.
We document, you decide
You get every photo and our notes. You choose whether to file.
We meet the adjuster if you want us to
We walk the roof with the adjuster so nothing on the list gets missed.
Nothing to sign before the inspection
We never ask you to sign a contingency agreement or assign your claim to us to get an inspection.
Your deductible is yours to pay
It’s illegal in Colorado for a roofer to cover or waive your deductible, and we won’t offer to.
Inspections for buying or selling
A written report with photos and an honest estimate of remaining life, in time for your inspection period.
- Roof and attic inspected, every finding photographed
- Estimated remaining life, in plain words
- Repair or replacement cost, if anything needs work
- Report written so a buyer, seller or agent can follow it
