Heating and cooling questions

How often should a furnace or AC be serviced?

Once a year each: the furnace in the fall, the AC in the spring. Heat pumps do both jobs, so they benefit from two visits a year.

Is a heat pump a good idea in Ohio?

For many homes, yes, often with the gas furnace kept as backup for the coldest days. We look at your ductwork, insulation and current system before recommending one.

How often should I change the filter?

Check it monthly. Standard 1-inch filters usually need changing every one to three months; thicker media filters last longer.

Why is one room always hotter or colder?

Usually ductwork: undersized runs, leaks, or a room added after the system was installed. Sealing, balancing or a ductless unit can fix it.
