Our process
A renovation goes well when the big decisions are made before anyone picks up a hammer. Here’s how each stage works, what we ask of you, and what you get at the end of it.
- Week 1
Discovery and design consultation
We meet at your home, walk the rooms, and listen: how you live in them, what isn’t working, and what you’re hoping to spend.
- What we ask of you
- Photos, inspiration, a rough budget
- What you get
- A clear sense of whether we’re the right fit
- Weeks 2 to 8
Design and selections
Measured drawings, then layouts and elevations we refine together. We take you through cabinetry, stone, tile, fixtures and lighting in person.
- What we ask of you
- Two or three working sessions
- What you get
- Final drawings and a complete selections list
- Week 8 to 10
Fixed proposal and schedule
One price for the agreed scope, a written schedule, and a clear process for any change you decide to make later.
- What we ask of you
- Review and questions
- What you get
- A fixed-price contract and a start date
- Often 8 to 20 weeks
Build
A project lead runs the site every day. You get a weekly update, a protected and swept house, and a direct line to the person in charge.
- What we ask of you
- Weekly check-ins
- What you get
- Steady, visible progress
- Completion
Walk-through and care
We walk every room with you, finish the punch list, and hand over care guides and warranty documents for every material.
- What we ask of you
- A final walk-through
- What you get
- A finished home and everything you need to look after it
While we’re in your home
A renovation shouldn’t take over your life.
Protected and swept
Floors covered, dust walls with zipper doors, and the site swept at the end of every day.
One person in charge
Your project lead runs the site daily and is the person you call, text or email.
A weekly update
What happened, what’s next, and any decision we need from you, in writing every week.
Changes priced first
If you want to change something, you see the cost and the effect on the schedule before we do it.
What shapes a budget
We talk about money at the first visit, so the design is shaped by a number you’re comfortable with.
Moving plumbing or walls
Keeping sinks and walls where they are costs far less than relocating them.
Cabinetry
Custom, semi-custom and stock cabinetry differ widely in cost and lead time.
Surfaces
Natural stone, engineered quartz and tile each have their own price and care.
The house itself
Older homes often reveal wiring, plumbing or framing that needs updating once walls open.
Start with a conversation
A design consultation is about ninety minutes at your home. No charge, no obligation, and an honest view of what your project involves.
